Ever since I was young I’ve always been curious about people. I would always ask questions and want to know everyone’s life stories. When I meet new people, even now I am always wondering about the journies they that have brought them to this moment.
All of the pictures in this collection were taken by me for the past 2-3 years. Images were taken with a Lumix GX7 or IPhone 4, 5 or iPhone 6.
The pictures I have curated for this collection speak to my curiosity when it comes to people #kdcCandid
When relaunching the blog I knew that I wanted to start a book club. Now that we are a week away from the first party, (FB Book Club Event) and I’m not even done the book yet! But to be honest I’m not worried because I’m following my own advise. Want to know what is working for me? Keep on reading, I hope that this bit will help you complete any book.
My first lesson is to actually make the time to read. It sounds simple enough, but in our busy lives we are usually on the move, on our way to/from work or school thinking… What’s for dinner? Do we have all the ingredients to make said dinner? What tasks are due today? What is on TV tonight?
There is just always something we could be doing. Picking up a book forces you to slow down and focus on only one thing, what the authour is trying to tell you.
If you have loved DIY, home decor, or just straight up beautiful blogs, for any amount of time you have come across A Beautiful Mess.
For me it was easy to fall in love right away with their positivity, their old school flare and their beautiful aesthetic. My obsession started strong and I started to visit the blog on the daily – sometimes multiple times a day to be honest. Their posts varied from hair tutorials, DIY tips and recipes so I always knew that out of all the blogs I followed, I would always end up Pinteresting something from their site as it was so versatile.
Then came the day where their humble ass blog blew up and they were putting out products, classes, apps and subscription boxes. Oh man, as I was already heavily deep into my obsession my wallet didn’t stand a chance.
Now that it has been a few years I’ve been able to try all of their products (not.even.kidding) I’ve found the things that I love.
This podcast is able to go real deep down the rabbit hole as it is the same case across many episodes. Their focus – the Boston strangler. I like that they do really great research so there is a lot of information shared. Also, the host has a nice voice which is always a plus when listening to a podcast.
I am so excited to announce the first instillation of the KDC BOOK CLUB!
I knew that I wanted a way to bring books and reading to this online community so I am hopping that you will join me. If one of your new year’s resolutions was to read more then please join!
The rules are simple:
- We will read books of all types, I will look for nominations from the group so that we can have a wide variety
- You will have a month and a half to read each book
- We will come together over food to talk about what moved us, confused us, angered us and inspired us
- If there is a movie version of the book we will watch it and have that loving debate of which was better – movie or book –
- Use any way you feel most comfortable to absorb the book (physical form, audio form, e-reader)
- Use #kdcreads on Instagram + Twitter to engage in the convo and share your pictures. Check out the FB page too for more
I wanted our first book to be something I had not read before, something known but maybe not too well and something with a powerful story. That being said for the first book I have chosen…
I know it’s been a minute since you’ve seen me around, and I can explain! I was off galavanting around, attending weddings, camping, road trippin, bullet journaling, taking photos, reading and chillin with Alfred – ya know 🙄.
To tell you the truth after my last post I felt a bit uninspired and was too nervous to post. Then when I’d muster the courage I would think, It’s been too long between the posts! Viewership will be down! Who reads this junk anyway!? If you are not familiar with these types of things, let me introduce you to how I experience anxiety. With all of these negative thoughts clouding me, I forgot that this was my safe spot for me to drop all my ideas, showcase my photos, and hopefully inspire.
One thing I never really had growing up was a pet. And originally after moving I had said to myself that I would wait a couple of months before adopting. I think most of it was due to the fact that I am use to a lot going on at home, going from a house of 7 to being on my own I really missed the noise and someone to come home to. So that couple of months turned into a week, and I ended up adopting right away.
Let me introduce you to Alfred
